About the project
Sadeq’s ‘Alchemist’ is a multi-functioning device that tests crude oil and other substances. This piece of art has a broad utility for the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. In addition to a range of testing functions (cooling, heating, shaking, mixing, and extracting), other capabilities like statistical reporting and analysis are included. It’s safe to say that Alchemist is designed to be a best friend for professionals in specialized industries. Sadeq has secured a patent in the US for his invention.
Where is Sadeq now?
Sadeq clearly got the ‘invention bug’ after Stars of Science Season 2. He’s now a full-fledged serial inventor and entrepreneur with no less than 10 projects. Sadeq contributed much of his time to promoting innovation in Kuwait as he was a member of the Science Club since 1995. Since the show, Sadeq was appointed head of the invention development department at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center (SAC) at the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS). He was then promoted to section head of the program’s curriculum development where he worked for 7 years before resigning to focus solely on his company Prototec.
In 2014, Sadeq established Prototec, an R&D for the MENA region. He works with private companies as well as governmental institutions and consults pro bono for the youth to help them launch their innovations. Through Prototec, Sadeq has manufactured 3 products that are already on the market from which Dukhoon, an electronic incense burner, a best seller sold worldwide that made a hit on the market. In 2020, Sadeq is projecting to have a total of 8 products on the market as he’s currently working on manufacturing 5 new innovative products.
He’s also planning to invest in SOS alumni innovations supporting them in a way or another to bring them to market.
Sadeq’s personal reflection
Sadeq credits Stars of Sciencefor teaching him a measured and deliberative approach to developing inventions. “When I entered SOS, I was an amateur. SOS made me more mature, it invested in me and I became a real innovator/entrepreneur”.
The show and his journey afterwards has made him a recognized icon in his country, and a role model among Kuwaiti youth.
Awards & Media
Sadeq has won many awards. His most recent wins took place in Kuwait where he was awarded the Excellence and Creativity award in Entrepreneurship by the Emir of Kuwait. He had also won awards in the US at the INPEX Invention & New Product Exposition and the INOVA International Invention Show in Croatia. He also got four medals in Geneva where he participated in the International Inventors Show with Alchemist and other products he has developed.
